Empowering Bioscience Innovation: Phoenix's Role in Revolutionizing Medical Technology
Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema celebrated Phoenix’s selection for the Tech Hub Strategy Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration. The grant will be used by the Medical Device Manufacturing Multiplier Strategy Development Consortium (MDM2), led by the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), to enhance local coordination and planning for smart medical device manufacturing using AI and machine learning technologies. This initiative aims to boost regional capacity for manufacturing, commercializing, and deploying critical technologies, furthering economic growth and national security. The Tech Hubs Program, authorized by the CHIPS and Science Act, supports innovation centers to enhance U.S. competitiveness on a global scale. Phoenix's selection from a highly competitive pool of 181 applicants underscores its role in cutting-edge bioscience innovation.
