PEI Funding Supports Six Arizona Health Technology Projects

Arizona’s health technology sector continues to gain momentum as applied research programs help move early-stage ideas toward real-world use. A recent In Business Magazine article highlighted $600,000 in Arizona Commerce Authority funding secured by the Partnership for Economic Innovation to support six new Arizona-based health technology projects through PEI’s Applied Research Centers.

The newest cohort includes projects focused on women’s brain health, medication safety, chronic condition and fall-prevention management, migraine treatment, cardiac event detection, and deep brain stimulation support for epilepsy care. Each project is connected with Arizona research institutions, including Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Arizona, helping teams move more quickly from research and prototyping toward validation, commercialization, and patient impact.

This is PEI’s Insight -> Alignment -> Action model at work. By identifying health technology as a high-potential growth area, aligning startups with researchers and industry partners, and supporting projects with targeted funding and commercialization resources, PEI helps build the conditions for Arizona-made solutions to reach patients, clinicians, and consumers. The result is a stronger innovation ecosystem that supports quality jobs, talent retention, and Arizona’s long-term competitiveness in medical technology.
